Photizo Sees Growth in Color Toners by 2017

According to Photizo’s Supplies Advisory Service Report for 2013, worldwide toner shipments will grow to 252 million kilograms in 2017, up 26% compared to shipments in 2012.

The hike is driven by color toners used in color printers and MFPs, particularly in the office environment. By comparison, the market share of monochrome toners will fall from 63% in 2010 to 47% by 2017 according to the Photizo forecast.

Photizo also expects OEMs will retain their leading position in the color toner market (including both chemical and mechanical products), as most aftermarket vendors are not competent in color matching. Photizo believes that aftermarket color toners will account for less than 10% market share until their toners are in full compliance with the OEM’s specifications.
