Print-Rite Develops Toner with 48% Bio-Content
UTec, the global master distributor for Print-Rite Imaging Products, announce that Print-Rite can now produce biotoners that contain 48% biocontent. That achievement is up from 23% bio three years ago.
According to UTec, Print-Rite currently produces HP biotoners with 25% and 30% biocontent. Those products satisfy America’s bioproducts standards for “preferred vendor status” which require products to be at least 25% biobased. UTec claims their biotoner provides favorable print quality and its durability meets the ISO11798-1998 testing standard.
Tang Fugen, General Manager of ICMI (China) Ltd. (ICL), a subsidiary of Print-Rite Holdings, said, “Albeit the market for biotoner is still very small at this stage, I believe it will have a bright future. I believe biotoner will be accepted by more and more people as the Low Carbon Consumption and Low Carbon Life philosophy becomes more popular worldwide. In addition to benefits for the environment, the print quality and page yield of biotoners are both comparable with OEM toners. In consideration of market demand, we’ll improve our technology to bring down the cost of biotoner, so more end users will benefit from it.”
