Print-Rite Pelikan Ready with New Post-Brexit UK Label

Print-Rite Europe (PRE) and its Print-Rite Pelikan Solutions (PRPS) brand are ready to display the new UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) mark on their products, ahead of the January 1, 2023 deadline.

Following Brexit, the UK government has legislated that the new UKCA product markings be placed on goods sold on the market in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales).

“Print-Right Europe and PRPS are already onboard and ready with the Government’s New UK certification,” said Steve Weedon, the Chief Executive of Print-Rite Pelikan Europe.

The UKCA mark along with the CE mark (together with UKNI mark) applicable to Northern Ireland, PRE and PRPS will allow CE marked goods to continue to be placed on the British market until 1st January 2023.

PRE and PRPS will continue selling goods in the UK under the CE mark as the UKCA mark is only compulsory for new products to be sold in the UK and for replacement stocks imported after CE marked products are sold or after 31st December 2021.

“Thereafter we will apply a UKCA label,” Weedon added.

All certifications and compliance markings will continue to be shown on PRPs packaging including the CE mark for UK sales, including WEEE and RoHS. The UKCA mark will be positioned alongside (and not replace) the current CE marking.
