Enhanced Visa Policies for Greater Accessibility

China has recently updated its travel policies to ease entry for international travelers, reflecting a shift towards promoting tourism and business exchanges.

-A 15-day visa-free policy has been extended until December 31, 2025, for citizens of countries including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia.

-China, Singapore, and Thailand have officially agreed to implement visa-free entry policies for their citizens, allowing stays of up to 30 days.

-38 exit-entry ports in 18 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government of China have implemented the 72-hour or 144-hour visa-free transit policy for foreign nationals from 54 countries. These countries include Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, etc. (Full list available at: https://en.nia.gov.cn/n147418/n147463/c156086/content.html)
Foreign nationals from these countries holding valid international travel documents and connecting tickets with information on confirmed dates and seats for transit via China to third countries or regions within specified time frames can apply for visa-free transits at the exit-entry border inspection authorities of the ports in the cities where the visa-free transit policies are in effect. The exit-entry border inspection authorities will then process their applications and grant temporary entry to the eligible foreign nationals. The duration of stay for each foreign national starts from 0:00 on the day following the day of entry.

Transportation Links

  • Zhuhai’s transportation infrastructure continues to evolve, enhancing connectivity with Hong Kong,Macau, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
  • The iconic Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge(HZMB), already a marvel of modern engineering, saw further improvements in 2024. Additional shuttle services and increased bus frequency have been introduced to accommodate the growing number of travelers, reducing travel time and making cross-border transit more efficient.
  • In addition, the completion of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Linkhas significantly enhanced regional connectivity. This new infrastructure, comprising an undersea tunnel and a series of bridges, directly links the cities of Shenzhen and Zhongshan, reducing travel time between the eastern and western shores of the Pearl River Delta. With this link, Zhuhai benefits from improved access to Shenzhen, further integrating the transportation network and boosting economic ties within the region.
