Researcher Says Business InkJet is Booming

Amid the gloom of downward printing trends comes a bright light for inkjet printing, particularly in the office.

According to market analyst Ann Priede at the Photizo Group, despite most imaging trend lines going down, there is the genesis of a trend worth watching.

Photizo expects worldwide color ink cartridge usage per machine to rise over the next five years.

Consumers are buying business inkjet machines that have an improved price performance ratio and can print more pages for less money than a comparable entry-level color laser.

Photizo predicts the shift to ink-based printers will also see an increase in page volumes per device due to the combination of fast print speeds and lower cost per page.

In a market tired of hearing about less printing, declining pages, and fewer opportunities, Photizo says business inkjet machines could turn those frowns upside down.
