Ricoh Continues to Grow in Q3

Ricoh sales increased 0.4% year-over-year to JPY432.7 billion (US$3.75 billion) in the third quarter (Q3) of the fiscal year 2021 ending March 31, 2022. Gross profit increased 2.3% year-over-year to JPY156.9 billion (US$1.36 billion) in the quarter. Profit(loss) before income tax expenses increased 278.2% year-over-year to JPY14.7 billion (US$127.24 million).

For the nine months ended December 31, 2021, sales turned out to be JPY1276.1 billion (US$11.05 million), up 7.0% compared to the same period last year. Gross profit increased 11.1% year-over-year to JPY461.8 billion (US$4.00 billion).

Ricoh expects sales to be JPY1910.0 billion (US$16.53 billion) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022, while gross profit will be JPY661.4 billion (US$5.73 billion).

In the second quarter, Ricoh sales increased 10.7% year-over-year to JPY ¥843.3 billion (US$7.42 billion), while gross profit increased 16.2% year-over-year to JPY ¥304.9 billion (US$2.68 billion).

Operating profit increased JPY43.7 billion (US$384.59 million) to JPY ¥13.1 billion (US$115.29 million) in Q2, while profit attributable to owners of the parent turned out to be JPY ¥11.1 billion (US$97.68 million).

“Despite the delayed pandemic recovery, higher costs from parts shortages and transportation expense, performance was in line with the plan due to business growth, structural reforms, and recovery measures,” said the spokesman of Ricoh.
