Ricoh Expands Its Digital Press Family
Ricoh is rolling out three monochrome digital presses to help printers improve quality and performance. They are: the Ricoh Pro 8100S, 8110S and 8120S. All three printers are designed for in-plant, print-for-pay operations, digital printers and data centers. Based on the technology of the Pro C751 and C901 series, the new printers will replace the Pro 907EXP, 1107EXP and 1357EXP.
Peter Williams, Executive Vice President for Ricoh, said, “Demand for color continues to grow but a productive, versatile monochrome press remains an essential asset for business-critical applications. These include the transactional printing of bills, invoices, statements, trans-promotional materials and other variable data printing applications.”
Maximum output speeds for the Pro 8100S, 8110s and 8120S models are 95, 110 and 135 ppm respectively, with duty cycles up to three million pages.
Ricoh’s laser beam technology provides a resolution of 1,200 dpi x 4,800 dpi from a 40-beam laser for better registration and more accurate fill for sharper text and smoother graphics. Besides, mechanical registration has been developed for the new machines to enable precise front-to-back registration alignment, compensating for media expansion and contraction during the duplexing process.
The new printers will be commercially available in late August with prices released at the commercial launch.
