Ricoh Opens Bottle Recovery, Refilling Center in India
Ricoh recently opened a recovery and refilling center for used multi-function printer (MFP) toner bottles in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. Ricoh said an “On-demand toner filling machine” drives this facility with a machine developed using Ricoh’s unique expertise in space and cost saving technology.
The company pointed out that the new center in India encourages customers to use new resources and shorten the time for product supply without heavily relying on imports. It will also help reduce environmental footprints like CO2 emissions during transportation and will optimize inventory.
Ricoh undertook the recovery and refilling of MFP toner bottles in Japan in 2001. According to the company, this approach has been expanded to four locations in Japan, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, and India.
