Rio Rancho Asks HP to Pay Money back
KRQE News 13 reported that due to not hiring as many workers as promised, Hewlett Packard (HP) will have to pay back some of the incentive money to the Rio Rancho city in the U.S.
As was revealed by KRQE News 13, the state has convinced HP to set up a massive customer service center in Rio Rancho five years ago. HP supposed to hire more than 1,300 employees by now in the city, but it only employed 800 in 2013. Therefore, Rio Rancho is asking some of that money back, starting with $60,000 in return for around $2 million in incentives.
According to Albuquerque Journal, HP spokeswoman Sarah Pompei stated, “HP is deeply committed to our employees and the communities in which they live and work. We will continue to abide by the terms and obligations of the commitments we have with government agencies.”
