New Appointment for Epson Europe

According to Epson, Darren Phelps (pictured) has been appointed Vice President of Business Sales within Europe, leading the business unit and overseeing the expansion of business inkjet and scan products. It is said that his appointment bolsters Epson’s continued focus on driving the shift from laser to business inkjet printing, as well as its commitment to a 100% indirect business sales model.

Phelps, who led Epson’s recent re-vamp and expansion of its channel partner programme to offer additional value to resellers of Epson business printers, scanners and displays, is credited with driving a 62% increase in partners working alongside the brand.

Simplifying the sales model for business print remains a key priority for Epson as it seeks to grow across the EMEA region.

Over half a billion euros has been invested into the development and distribution of Epson business inkjet technology over recent years, as well as strengthening the EMEA sales support team to better aid channel partners.  Epson’s revised Partner Programme further adds to this, along with its move to strengthen its leadership team.

“Our 100% commitment to the channel and simplified sales model, along with the cost-saving and environmental benefits of our technologies make us a reliable partner for the channel, able to add value and offer support. My aim is to further strengthen these relationships, to drive growth for both us and our partners,” says Phelps.

In November, 2016, Darren Phelps was appointed executive director responsible for Epson’s Business Imaging and Print division for EMEAR, along with Ernest Quingles, managing director for Epson France, Spain and Portugal who was named as director responsible for business sales across Europe.

The appointments take place as Epson progresses to the next phase of a €50 Million investment programme in Europe (focused on infrastructure, IT, marketing and workforce expansion) aimed at delivering €2 billion sales in 2020 and increasing the European workforce by 10 per cent.
