Canon Sought Three Removals from Amazon

On September 9, Canon sought three removals of Amazon.ca listings within one day, after filing infringing reports with Amazon.ca.

The three companies involved are：Tuobo Store，PayForLess and Skia Ink Cartridges.

Canon’s infringement report alleged that:

• certain model CB540A, CB541A, CB542A and CB543A toner cartridges sold by Tuobo store via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791. Canon requested the removal of the corresponding listings for these products, namely, Amazon Standard Identification Number B00JAR2674.
• certain model CB540A, CB541A, CB542A, CB543A, CE320A, CE321A, CE322A, CE323A, CF210A, CF210X, CF211A, CF212A, CF213A, CC530A, CC531A, CC532A and CC533A toner cartridges sold by PayForLess via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791. Canon requested the removal of the corresponding listings for these products, namely, Amazon Standard Identification Numbers B07Q9HP89L, B07GRZDYWG, B07H3JFBMY, B07L9WHRFT, B07H57XK6H and B07H586ZF4.
• certain model CC530A, CC531A, CC532A, CC533A, CB540A, CB541A, CB542A and CB543A toner cartridges sold by Skia Ink Cartridges via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791. Canon requested the removal of the corresponding listings for these products, namely, Amazon Standard Identification Numbers B07HKZJKXP, B07HKXJD99, B07HKXSGJS, B07HKVJV6G, B07HKYCPLZ, B07HKVTWGM, B07HKYNQGT and B07HL7Y4CX.

At the time of this announcement, products sold under the above identified listings were no longer available on Amazon.ca. Filing an infringement report with Amazon.ca is a service offered by Amazon and does not constitute an official finding of infringement. The decision to take down a product is in the discretion of Amazon and is based on information provided by Canon.

It is not the first time Canon seeks removals of Amazon listings. Previously, we reported that the company announced that the filing of infringement reports with Amazon.com seeking the removals of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by the following 5 companies, HOBBYUNION, VISION SUPPLIES, INKPLUS, BESTINK, and NEWYORK TONER.
