Women Pioneers Passionate About Remanufacturing Too
In an industry that is dominated by men, Eco-Toner’s General Manager Sonia Zapata (pictured) is an example of women who have pioneered the financial and commercial success of their own aftermarket supplies business.
Zapata has been running the Eco-Toner operation in Guatemala for 12 years.
“We were born in a small office by one of our founding partners, Rafael Novielli,” she said. “He had a vision for pioneering a laser printer cartridge recycling business in Guatemala which quickly expanded into El Salvador and Honduras. That was 23 years ago. At the time we were pioneers in remanufacturing. We are still pioneers!”
According to Zapata, she and the business have faced all the changes that have confronted the industry. “At the same time, we have maintained our essence as remanufacturers, providing quality products and services.”
During the past five years, the business has invested heavily to provide printing services to clients throughout the Central American region. “Today, we can compare ourselves with the major brands that provide this type of service.
The company now has more than 40 team members who have had to face the last year of the pandemic with a great attitude. Many of the team have more than 16 years of experience within the organization. “I am proud of having formed a strong ECO-TONER family,” Zapata added.
“We are confident that the future is promising and that we will continue to work hard to prevail quality in this noble industry.”
