Xerox Forges Strategic Partnership in Peru and Ecuador
Xerox unveiled another move for its transformation plan by transition its operations in Peru and Ecuador to Productive Business Solutions Limited (PBS), one of the leading full service IT company in Central America, Miami, Colombia, and The Caribbean.
PBS has been in longstanding partnership with Xerox for two decades in Central America, the Caribbean and South America. The transaction, slated for completion in the second quarter of 2024, is currently pending approval from the Ecuadorian competition authority. Xerox employees in both countries will need to transfer to PBS then.
John Bruno, President and Chief Operating Officer at Xerox, emphasized the strategic shift, stating, “This indirect model with PBS will best support our clients in region while allowing Xerox to put greater focus on developing and deploying Digital Services capabilities to diversify our channel-ready offerings.”
PBS also expressed its anticipation for the partnership. “This strategic expansion in Peru and Ecuador further solidifies our presence in Latin America, extends our footprint to a total of 24 countries and bolsters our workforce to over 3,000 IT professionals.” said P.B. Scott, Chairman of PBS Group.
Detailed financial settlements are yet to be discussed. Earlier in March, Xerox declared selling its businesses in Argetina and Chile to Grupo Datco, marking the start of Xerox’s transformation plan in Latin America.
