Xerox Toner Faces More than Rumor Challenges
According to The Recycler, speculation has been rife regarding Xerox’s Everyday Toner range, particularly in light of rumors suggesting potential withdrawal from European markets due to compliance issues. Addressing these concerns, Xerox has reiterated its commitment to not only maintaining but also expanding its Everyday Toner offerings.
In a statement provided to The Recycler, a Xerox spokesperson confirmed:
“As part of our ongoing commitment to providing versatile and reliable solutions for our clients, Xerox is working to expand the ranges of its Everyday Toner and Everyday Remanufactured Toner offerings in the coming months. These expansions are an effort to support more non-Xerox printers, as we have done throughout 2024.”
The Everyday Toner range was introduced as a cost-effective alternative to OEM consumables, boasting up to 60% savings and a lifetime warranty. This product line is designed for non-Xerox printers, offering dependable performance without the premium prices often associated with original manufacturers’ cartridges. In addition, Everyday Toner cartridges are recyclable via Xerox’s Green World Alliance® program, which diverts millions of pounds of used supplies from landfills annually.
Despite these advancements, Xerox faces challenges concerning compliance with European regulations. A recent investigation by the European Toner & Inkjet Remanufacturers Association (ETIRA) identified a Xerox Everyday Toner product as non-compliant with EU standards. ETIRA’s broader review of non-OEM cartridges across Europe from July to November 2024 revealed that 75% of these products failed to meet compliance standards, with only 8% achieving full compliance.
Xerox’s commitment to sustainability and adherence to these stringent standards will undoubtedly face heightened scrutiny as the company continues its expansion.
