EBP Acquires in Europe
Towards the end of 2019, UK-based remanufacturing company Environmental Business Products (EBP) completed the acquisition of German ink supplier Compedo.
Established in 1987, Compedo – which is headquartered in Iserlohn – supplies bulk ink to inkjet manufacturers, including EBP, as well as being a supplier of ink bottles and finished product inkjet and toner cartridges.
EBP said the acquisition had been made to help generate new opportunities in the broader world of ink, while also further strengthening its European capabilities post-Brexit. In addition, the intention is to create synergies between Compedo and OCP, another German ink manufacturer acquired by EBP’s senior management in November 2018.
Compedo founder Richard Pennekamp will continue to oversee the facility in Iserlohn, working closely with the existing EBP infrastructure. EBP said it had already identified a number of growth opportunities, such as ink development, product portfolio introductions, stronger account management and customer acquisition initiatives.
“The ink industry remains challenging, but we are continuing to go from strength to strength through the changes that we have made, and continue to make,” said EBP Managing Director Aleem Hosein.
“Working with Richard and his team over the coming year and beyond looks set to further optimise Compedo and OCP’s competencies and, in turn, strengthen EBP’s position in the market.”
