Canon Asks More to be Removed
Canon continued its efforts in filing report infringement forms with Amazon in Germany, UK, Italy and Spain.
- Canon Inc. filed Report Infringement Forms with Amazon.de and Amazon.es based on the alleged use of claims 1 of the German and Spanish portions of Canon’s European Patent EP 2 137 577 (“EP ‘577”) regarding certain models of toner cartridges offered by Hong Kong Boze Co., Limited under the following ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers).
Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products. These products are compatible with the respective OEM HP cartridge models and provide inter alia a non-OEM housing, a non-OEM developing roller, as well as a non-OEM coupling member comprising a rotating force receiving portion and a rotating force transmitting portion according to claim 1 of EP ‘577.

Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products. These products are compatible with the OEM HP cartridge model CF258A and provide inter alia a non-OEM coupling member, a non-OEM drum as well as a non-OEM housing.
Canon is the most diligent of printer OEMs to scrutinise the online listings of aftermarket printer cartridges, particularly on Amazon.
The iconic imaging leader has yet again, used the infringement reporting service offered by Amazon to see thousands of listings removed in Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and France.
